Speaking of a Yellow Wall….
Something absolutely magnificent and deserves its own post. Time to start one of these at our home.

Enjoy your weekend.
We announced our attendance at the VfL Bochum vs Brentford FC fixture earlier in the month, now comes the post-match report. TSG Dülmen e.V. were host to the match in the town of Dülmen, a small place between Münster and the Dutch border, basically existing Continue reading
With the pre-season Hull City vs Torino FC fixture announced, let’s take a look at the Serie A club. One of the longest standing Italian professional sports clubs with a very glorious history, if less successful in recent decades. The Northwest of Italy, being the first Continue reading
It’s still amazing to think that I was in the capital city of the victorious country watching the World Cup final. As Germany will not be in the final this year, let’s look back at their last major Football achievement. This is the story and these are the images of that magical evening, July the 13th 2014. It’s going to be a long hot summer for From Boothferry To Germany. Most clubs across the world have announced their pre-season plans now and we’ve been researching them all diligently to see which ones work best for us.

Starting in Bochum, who host Brentford FC on the 13th of July, and making a visit to the Deutsche Fußball Bund national museum in Dortmund the next day. Then it’s on to one of our favourite cities, Dresden, at the end of the month. 4 teams are in town, Everton, Werder Bremen, Real Betis and of course SG Dynamo Dresden. All will play each other and we’re going to join the fun on the 29th. And lastly Hull City have announced their pre-season schedule with games against Çaykur Rizespor and Torino FC, once again in Austria. These are ones we are sure not to miss.
Shout out to our friends in Lokeren who play host to Newcastle United. That is a game we cannot make but would love to be there to give one to the Geordies.
Everywhere We Go, Everyone Will Know.
Everybody else hates them. You realise this as a Hull City fan walking around Germany when they confuse Black and Amber for Dynamo colours. But you cannot help admire the scale and the size of their support. Some of the best on the planet.

Football is an exceptionally good lens to look through to understand people and places. The graphic below shows the distribution of 1st and 2nd Bundesliga teams in the 2015/16 season. One thing stands out bold as brass: East Germany is desperately lacking. You see Continue reading
I do not understand the supposed entitlement that comes with nationality. “All they do is come over and take our jobs”. What exactly makes them “our jobs”? Why should it matter where an employee comes from if they do their job well? If being local brings an advantage, then yes, and there would be nothing to fear. But as people accuse immigration Continue reading
