We have all seen the rather alarming news coming fresh outta the world’s most popular federation this week. While many are indeed shocked by the Capitol Hill…. episode, some of the footage and photographs taken during the event that have emerged in the digital sphere have proven far too fucking funny to avoid receiving the dubious accolade “meme-worthy”. In this spirit, we at FBTG wanted to jump on the bandwagon and take advantage of the internet’s favourite ginger thief to have a bit of topical Football-related fun.
But only a few hours remain of the first year of the third decade of the third millennium following the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ. That was just a wanky way of saying that 2020 is about to end, but you already knew that. That may not be a bad thing; you also already knew that due to a certain microbiological topic that has filled global media, this year has been a tough one for anybody who does not own shares in major ecommerce sites and door-2-door courier service providers.
The glory days of Saxony-Anhalt’s largest Football club may be behind them, but nobody seems to have told the fanatical fans of 1.FC Magdeburg. Despite not having quite as high a profile as other East German professional clubs such as SG Dynamo Dresden, 1.FC Union Berlin and FC Hansa Rostock, Magdeburg remains the only club from the former GDR to have won international honours in the shape of the 1974 European Cup Winners Cup.

For most people, 2020 has offered little cheer. But the year does mark a noteworthy anniversary for Football fans from one nation that has contributed extensively to the global game. This year citizens from Seville to Santander can celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Spanish international Football.
A day late you might well say, but who cares?

However, the slight angle of the text subtly hints at the rebellious quality that ultras identify with. The only thing that could improve its appearance would be a consistent font used in both text blocks.

The big news story in the British Football press right now (besides the loss of one of the most popular figures in the world game) is the return of fans to English stadia. For the first time since early March 2020, up and down the country the top 4 tiers of English league Football will conduct competitive matches in front of a live audience. You might have stumbled across this blog post months or perhaps years down the line and think “what’s all the fuss about?” But right now, the possibility of getting back in to watch the boys seems very exciting.
