FBTG on Tour; Summer 2016

It’s going to be a long hot summer for From Boothferry To Germany. Most clubs across the world have announced their pre-season plans now and we’ve been researching them all diligently to see which ones work best for us.

From Boothferry To Germany On Tour

Starting in Bochum, who host Brentford FC on the 13th of July, and making a visit to the Deutsche Fußball Bund national museum in Dortmund the next day. Then it’s on to one of our favourite cities, Dresden, at the end of the month. 4 teams are in town, Everton, Werder Bremen, Real Betis and of course SG Dynamo Dresden. All will play each other and we’re going to join the fun on the 29th. And lastly Hull City have announced their pre-season schedule with games against Çaykur Rizespor and Torino FC, once again in Austria. These are ones we are sure not to miss.

Shout out to our friends in Lokeren who play host to Newcastle United. That is a game we cannot make but would love to be there to give one to the Geordies.

Everywhere We Go, Everyone Will Know.

Forza TeBe

From Boothferry To Germany TeBe

Non-league day at FBTG with a visit to the Mommsenstadion to check out Tennis Borussia Berlin. Outside of the UK “non-league” is a term not really used as many smaller clubs in regional divisions pay their players and have structures identical to the most Premier of Premier League teams. Tennis Borussia Berlin or “TeBe” fall into this category, but have that “go for the entertainment, beer and less-serious-atmosphere” vibe that I think defines what people see as “non-league”.

TeBe have become something of a cult team. Antifa, rainbow and “refugees-welcome” stickers and banners around the ground evoke the left-rebel feeling Continue reading

FBTG on Tour; March 2016

3 games in 7 days for FBTG. We start off with Hertha BSC hosting Eintracht Frankfurt at the Olympiastadion on Wednesday the 2nd (having managed to bag tickets in the Ostkurve). The following day will see us at St. Andrews in Birmingham with Hull City, the game pulled forward two days for TV reasons. But the final game is the biggest; the 5th round FA Cup replay back at the KC Stadium against our newest nemesis.

Saving Austria Salzburg

FC Union Austria Salzburg

1. FC Union Berlin celebrated their 50th anniversary late January, with celebrations including a charity match against SV Austria Salzburg at the Stadion an der alten Försterei. Knowing the history of the team from the Mozart City and with standing away-end ticket prices at 5 €, it sounded like a great opportunity.

Austria Salzburg have attracted a large amount of respect from the international football community for their stand against rising commercialism in football. After Red Bull Continue reading

Making the Trip to Lokeren

Travelling this weekend back to the Daknamstadion to support our friends at Sporting Lokeren. Game will be played Sunday evening at home to K.V. Oostende with tickets around 18 €. Is there anything I’m missing?

Hull City Sporting Lokeren

These guys know how to party and I have fond memories of the place. Beer inside the ground and all-standing home support in a working class provincial town; the spirit of the sport.
