Crystal Palace played against 1.FC Union Berlin last summer. Union, a far weaker side on paper, surprisingly won the game 2-0. The day was hot, the beer was popular, and Palace brought a good amount, probably coming close to 400 / 500. Palace fans had been victim to some scraps with Eisern Union ultras the day before, with a flag being stolen, but on the whole it was a peaceful affair.
My real interest was not the game, but the Holmesdale Fanatics. Now, Continue reading

It’s going to be a long hot summer for From Boothferry To Germany. Most clubs across the world have announced their pre-season plans now and we’ve been researching them all diligently to see which ones work best for us.

Starting in Bochum, who host Brentford FC on the 13th of July, and making a visit to the Deutsche Fußball Bund national museum in Dortmund the next day. Then it’s on to one of our favourite cities, Dresden, at the end of the month. 4 teams are in town, Everton, Werder Bremen, Real Betis and of course SG Dynamo Dresden. All will play each other and we’re going to join the fun on the 29th. And lastly Hull City have announced their pre-season schedule with games against Çaykur Rizespor and Torino FC, once again in Austria. These are ones we are sure not to miss.
Shout out to our friends in Lokeren who play host to Newcastle United. That is a game we cannot make but would love to be there to give one to the Geordies.
