Immorality in the Odds Market

Mike Phelan

So after only 78 days in charge of Hull City, Mike Phelan, former assistant manager to Mr Bruce before he quit in the summer, found his tenure of the club cut short yesterday evening. A press conference was called and we the exhiled Black and Amber Faithful woke to learn of the club’s search for a new manager this morning. I know what you’re thinking. Holmesdale Fanatics & The Smoke

Union Berlin Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace played against 1.FC Union Berlin last summer. Union, a far weaker side on paper, surprisingly won the game 2-0. Kuper and Szymanski claim the English & their attitudes follow a pattern Continue reading

There are less of them overall, but the German Football clubs occupy the same positions and fill the same niches in the structure of national Football in the eyes of the fans as the English clubs do. This post is a bit of a tongue in cheek explanation of where German and English clubs sit in the reality of Football. Enjoy.

Bayern München are Manchester United

Eternally strong and successful, almost eclipsing the legacy of the industrial stage from which the team came. Similarly the core of really diehard ultras are nowadays eclipsed by armchair fans buying their merch from supermarkets Continue reading
